Adventures in Domesticity
Today, I made jam. It's freezer jam, since it's far too hot to be doing the kind of cooking required for regular canning. This is the blueberry freezer jam from Ellie Topp and Margaret Howard's The Complete Book of Small-Batch Preserving. I was immediately attracted to this book by the idea of not having to find a home for dozens of jars of preserves, etc. They have several regular jam recipes, as well as a ketchup recipe, I'd like to try.
The other thing I did today was start on the Emmeline apron. I got all the cutting done before lunch, and was relatively far along with the sewing by the time I had to stop (it's reversible, which is why there are two full bodice/skirt pieces above).
I really regret not sewing more, but the lowest picture shows my "work space" situation - I'm stuck using my dining room table, which is far from ideal, and that's not just because it's such a production to get everything set up. I dream of the day I have a craft room...
