Booking Through Thursday

“This can be a quick one. Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.”

Here's my list:

1. Sunshine - Robin McKinley
2. Sabriel - Garth Nix
3. Beauty - Robin McKinley
4. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
5. Godmother - Mercedes Lackey
6. The Tempest - William Shakespeare
7. The Book of Flying - Keith Miller
8. The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley
9. Neil Gaiman's entire Sandman series
10. They Joy of Cooking
11. The Audubon Field Guide to North American Sea Shells
12. The Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis
13. The Dark is Rising - Susan Cooper
14. Anne of the Island - L.M. Montgomery
15. The Kalevala

Two observations:

1. I actually went slightly over time, because I stalled on book #15. I ended up picking the book (The Kalevala) that's been on my nightstand, partially read, for the better part of three or four years. I read a little bit of it every once in a while. So it's definitely sticking with me for the long haul.

2. I definitely lean towards the comfort reading. And I also added a couple of books I've used extensively for hobbies. I could probably have gone off more on that tangent had I given it a bit more thought, but those two popped immediately to mind.
