Booking Through Thursday

Really excellent Booking Through Thursday question that feeds very well into why I've barely posted on my blog at all in November so far.

Would you say that you read about the same amount now as when you were younger? More? Less? Why?

I definitely don't read as much as I used to. I have extremely fond memories of curling up with a book on a Saturday and actually reading the whole thing before running to either the library or the bookstore to get something else for Sunday. I also have fond memories of coming back from my shelving shifts at the library in college with seemingly half the books from my cart of the day.

For this reason at least, I miss my student days. Working is eating into my fun time! Not to mention, I now have a house to take care of on the weekends (and I must consider that my metabolism will not support whole weekends of inactivity these days without serious weight gain ;).

I've also made the complaint that I don't seem to as often find books that I love so much I can't put them down until they're done. I've pondered whether or not that's due to a dearth of decent books these days, or if it's due to the fact that my lack of quantity is leading to a seeming lack of quality. I suspect it's the latter.

Have you read "The Other Boleyn Girl"? That is one that I could not put down.. I lost sleep reading late into the night.. Dad had to take the kids out for dinner because I couldn't be bothered to prepare food.. seriously, it's a great read.

I have actually read that. A friend of mine gave it to me a couple Christmases ago. I would never have thought to read it on my own, but I did definitely enjoy it. I've got her other books somewhere down in my to read list.
